In the apartment refers to the long tradition of representation of interiors. Since ancient times, the painting plays with the motif of the interior – the symbol of the depth that evoked any form of illustration. For the famous German painter Albert Oehlen, who is based in Appenzell today, this is an important issue since time immemorial. In his latest collages he works with templates of art history and transformed works of, eg, Vuillard and Dalí to Pop Art “panels”.
In collaboration with Albert Oehlen design Fredi Fischli and Niels Olsen a tight group exhibition, in which the diverse approaches of interior painting is fanned in contemporary art.
